Village Hotel rooms

We have had the pleasure of staying at the Village Hotel Changi in Singapore twice, firstly in an Executive Club Room and on our second visit in a Twin Room.

Executive Club Room

We chose this room because we thought it was good value for money. Included in our room rate was a free airport shuttle, late check out and entry into the Club Lounge for breakfast, drinks and snacks.

The room decor is a little dated but still a nicely furnished and clean. The extra-large double bed and pillows were comfortable and made for a restful night sleep. The heat and water pressure of the rainwater shower were excellent and the bathroom had a range of toiletries. The room has tea and coffee making facilities, mini bar, hair dryer, safe, iron, ironing board, bathrobes and slippers. Room service is available and rooms have free Wifi.

When we checked out we were surprised when we were given a complimentary 2-hour pass for an Airport Lounge, something we appreciated because we had late flights.

Twin Room

This room didn’t have all the extras that the Executive Club room had, but it did include the free airport shuttle.

Again, the room decor is a little dated but nicely furnished and clean. The twin beds and pillows were comfortable and made for a restful night sleep. The heat and water pressure of the rainwater shower were excellent and the bathroom had a range of toiletries. The room has tea and coffee making facilities, fridge, hair dryer, safe, iron, ironing board, bathrobes and slippers. Room service is available and rooms have free Wifi.

Hotel Restaurants

The Saltwater Café, serves a buffet breakfast that focuses on Asian specialities. There is an egg station where you can have your eggs made to order. For those who like a Continental breakfast there are a selection of yoghurt, fruit, cheese and cold cuts. A variety of breads and Danish pastries are included in the breakfast options available.

The Saltwater Café also serves a buffet lunch and dinner.

La Cantina in Venezia, is an Italian restaurant that is located on level 8 with views overlooking the South China Sea. La Cantina has a choice of indoor and outdoor dining and can be enjoyed no matter what the weather.

We chose Antipasti, an array of cheese, cold cuts, sundried tomatoes, olives, artichokes and bread, a taste of Italy in the heart of Singapore.

Our main meal was a Tenderloin with Gorgonzola sauce that arrived on a bed of vegetables, the meat melts in your mouth and the creamy gorgonzola sauce worked well with the meat and vegetables.

We enjoyed our night at La Cantina, with spectacular views and delicious food, I’m sure we will return next time we visit Singapore.

Chou Bei Japanese Restaurant is in the lobby of the hotel and though we didn’t get the chance to dine there, the décor was inviting and the dishes on the menu looked tempting.

The Wine Company, has a reputation for an extensive range of fine wines and tasty food.

Room Service, we tried the Fish & Chips and a Hamburger from the room service menu. The room service staff were quick and efficient and the food hot, fresh and delicious.

Village Hotel Changi Facilities

The Village Hotel Changi has 2 pools, the Creek Pool on the ground floor and the Infinity rooftop pool with spectacular views of the South China Sea.

For the health conscious, there is a well-equipped gym and a visit to the wellness spa is a perfect cure for Jet lag. The Hotel has a choice of 17 indoor and outdoor function facilities.

The reception Staff were friendly and helpful, checking in and out ran smoothly and they were quick to answer any questions we had. The café, restaurant and room service Staff were polite, full of smiles and efficient.

On our second trip to the Hotel we had problems logging on to the internet, these problems were quickly fixed by the hotel Staff.

We were very impressed by the quality of Staff employed by the Village Hotel Changi.

Overall Impression of Village Hotel Changi

Upon entering the Village Hotel Changi you will notice that the décor in some areas is older than others, this is only superficial and should not take away from the quality of service and comfort that this hotel has to offer.

For a relaxing getaway in a first class hotel located close to Changi Beach, the village atmosphere is an oasis of calm after the craziness of the airport. With it’s on site fine dining restaurant serving international and Asian cuisines we recommend Village Hotel Changi. Click here for the latest hotel rates.
