France Travel Blog
France is a destination visited by millions each year and it’s easy to see why. From the stunning scenery of the French countryside, the beaches and snowfields, wine regions and the delights of Paris, France is a place which will enchant you as you embrace the joys of life.
Our love affair with France begins with the city of Paris, it is a place we have visited on numerous occasions, and we never grow tired of its charms.
During our visits we have stayed in apartments near the Louvre and across the River Seine near Les Invalides and the Eifel Tower. This has allowed us to live like Parisians, buying our morning baguette from the local Boulangerie and visiting the restaurants of the neighbourhood.
For more information on what to do in Paris see our articles which include recommendations for a Paris dinner cruise.
As Australians we were also keen to visit the WW1 Somme Battlefields and gained an insight into our own family history during our visit through the French countryside exploring the significant locations and towns. You can read more on a tour of the WW1 Battlefields here.
Further afield is the charming town of Evian les Bains which borders Switzerland. This picturesque town is home to Evian water and has spectacular views of Lac Leman (Lake Geneva to the Swiss) the French and Swiss Alps. To see what Evian has to offer visitors click here.
